National Park Hopping Services

osarizawa.com builds structured road-trip plans across the U.S. national park system.

osarizawa.com has published structured national park itineraries since 2016 and has prepared plans for more than 8,400 travelers. The current route library contains 47 multi-park journeys that connect an average of 6 parks per trip and cover roughly 2,100 miles over 14 to 18 days. Each route is divided into driving stages of 120 to 220 miles, with rest days scheduled every five travel days.

Itineraries include gateway lodging maps, daily sightseeing priorities, entrance-fee estimates, and backup routes for seasonal closures. The planning process draws on National Park Service road-condition data, park entrance statistics, and lodging availability patterns from the prior 36 months.

Multi-Park Route Design

Each itinerary connects 5 to 7 parks within a single geographic corridor, such as the Utah Mighty Five loop or the Northern Rockies circuit. Routes average 2,100 total miles and avoid backtracking by ordering parks in a clockwise or counter-clockwise sequence.

Driving legs are limited to one per day, with no more than 4.5 hours behind the wheel. Rest days are scheduled every five travel days to allow recovery and unplanned exploration.

Driving Stage Optimization

Daily driving segments are kept between 120 and 220 miles to limit fatigue and preserve daylight for trail time. Elevation changes, mountain passes, and seasonal road restrictions are factored into each segment.

Rest stops, fuel stations, and grocery resupply points are marked at intervals of 60 to 90 miles. Average driving time per stage ranges from 2 to 4 hours.

Accommodation Mapping

Lodging is clustered within 30 minutes of a park entrance to reduce early-morning commute times. Each overnight stop includes 2 to 4 options ranging from established campgrounds to mid-range hotels, with average nightly rates noted for the 2023-2024 season.

Reservations are booked directly by travelers through supplied links and confirmation numbers. osarizawa.com does not handle payment or availability checks for lodging providers.

Sightseeing Priorities

Each park day lists 2 to 4 primary viewpoints or trails ranked by distance from the entrance and typical morning crowd levels. Trail difficulty, elevation gain, estimated hiking time, and cell-service availability are documented.

Sunrise and sunset locations are included where parking capacity is limited. Notes indicate whether reservations or timed-entry tickets are required for specific trails or overlooks.

Itinerary Packages

Three planning formats are available, depending on trip length and region count.

osarizawa.com prepares route packages in three formats. Regional Hoppers cover 5 to 7 parks within one or two adjacent states over 10 to 14 days. Epic Crossings span 8 to 12 parks across multiple regions and last 18 to 24 days. Custom Route Design builds a new itinerary from a traveler-supplied list of parks and dates.

Regional Hopper planning costs $475 and includes up to two itinerary revisions. Epic Crossing planning costs $895 and includes up to four revisions and a 30-minute phone walkthrough. Custom Route Design is quoted individually after an initial route assessment.

Regional Hopper Itinerary

This package includes a day-by-day PDF, digital map links, lodging cluster recommendations for each night, and a reservation checklist. The average route covers 1,600 to 2,000 miles and stays within one geographic region.

Regions include the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, Northern Rockies, Great Smoky Mountains area, and South Florida. The package price is $475 and includes up to two itinerary revisions.

Epic Crossing Itinerary

This package covers 8 to 12 parks across multiple regions over 18 to 24 days. Deliverables include a master route map, split-park routing for large parks such as Yellowstone and Grand Canyon, and cross-country driving segments capped at 250 miles per day.

The price is $895 and includes up to four itinerary revisions and a 30-minute phone walkthrough. Average total mileage ranges from 3,200 to 4,000 miles.

Custom Route Design

Travelers submit a preferred park list, travel dates, and pacing preferences. osarizawa.com evaluates driving distances, seasonal road closures, and lodging availability, then builds a new itinerary from scratch.

Most custom plans are delivered within 10 to 14 business days. Pricing is quoted after the initial assessment; most custom projects fall between $650 and $1,200.

Add-On Consultation

Hourly consultations cover topics such as backcountry permit applications, RV suitability for specific routes, park-pass selection, and packing lists for varied elevations. Consultations are billed at $95 per hour and scheduled via video call.

Consultation time must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Notes from each session are emailed within 24 hours.

Seasonal Replanning

If road closures, wildfire, or severe weather affect a booked route, osarizawa.com produces a revised itinerary using alternate parks and adjusted lodging clusters. Replanning fees start at $195 and depend on the number of affected days.

The revised plan is delivered within 2 to 4 business days of receiving notice. Changes to lodging or park reservations remain the traveler’s responsibility.

Planning Process

The route development process follows five steps from initial assessment to final delivery.

The planning process begins with a route assessment form that collects travel dates, park priorities, physical ability level, lodging preferences, and vehicle type. This information is reviewed against current National Park Service alerts and seasonal lodging patterns before draft work begins.

Once the draft is complete, travelers receive a PDF itinerary, digital map links, and a lodging booking guide. Two to four revision rounds are included depending on the package. Final documents are delivered at least 14 days before departure.

01

Initial Route Assessment

Travelers complete a 15-question form covering dates, budget range, priority parks, and daily driving tolerance. osarizawa.com reviews responses within 2 business days and confirms whether the requested parks are feasible within the available timeframe.

If the original list is not feasible, the assessment includes a suggested alternative park order or a trimmed list. The assessment fee is included in the package price.

02

Draft Itinerary Development

Within 5 to 10 business days, a draft itinerary is produced with park order, daily mileage, suggested lodging towns, and primary sightseeing stops. Drafts include a mileage summary and estimated fuel cost based on current regional averages.

The draft is shared as a PDF with embedded map links. Travelers may request changes to park order, pacing, or lodging preferences during the included revision rounds.

03

Lodging and Activity Mapping

Each overnight location is mapped to 2 to 4 lodging options, including established campgrounds, cabins, and hotels. Activity lists include trail length, elevation gain, and estimated duration.

Links to reservation systems are provided for each property. Backup lodging clusters are noted for towns where availability is historically limited.

04

Final Review and Delivery

The final itinerary is delivered as a PDF and through a shared digital folder. It contains a day-by-day schedule, backup-route notes, park entrance fee totals, and a packing checklist organized by climate zone.

Revisions are accepted for up to 7 days after delivery. Final documents are issued at least 14 days before the traveler’s departure date.

05

On-Trip Support

During travel, clients may send route questions via email. Responses are typically issued within 24 hours on business days. Emergency rerouting assistance is available for closures that occur after departure, subject to staff availability.

On-trip support does not include real-time roadside assistance or lodging reservations. Travelers retain responsibility for all bookings and vehicle maintenance.
